On our last day we started off by wishing Linda good luck for her future as it was her last day here as well. We all ate lots of sweets and talked a lot. After an emotional speech by Frances we all got right back to work.To start work again we begun sending Christmas letters to various schools and centres in the local area. This ended up taking up a very long time. We had write a message in the letters, address the envelopes and then put the greeting cards in the envelopes. Then Cornelius and me did some shelf tidying which lasted up until lunch time.
After lunch we started our usual desk work. However today we were overwhelmed by the amount of people and therefore were very busy. Alex also gave us some tasks which included cutting some posters, putting up posters, Shelley made a Christmas tree and also we picking specially selected books on the environment.
I would like to wrap up my final blog entry by saying a couple of things. I would like to thank all the staff here at Ashfield Library and also at the council for making our stay feel very welcoming and also for all of them being so friendly and supportive. Special thanks Alex for making our time tables very interesting and going to the trouble of making us write a blog, Kathy for having such a energetic personality, Ponnary for showing us many things, Frances for giving us an motivating talk on what choices we should do with our futures, Helen for showing us around council and for talking a lot about what has worked for her, and finally to all the people down at the desk who were always willing to offer their help. I wish them all the very best so that they can have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. :)
